"hg log -p" and pseudo-binary files

Victor Sudakov
Dear Colleagues,

If hg thinks a file is binary, the result of "hg log -p" will be like:

 changeset:   5913:53d815d37cc4
 tag:         tip
 user:        Victor Sudakov <sudakov@XXXXXXXXXX>
 date:        Wed Sep 18 15:05:31 2019 +0700
 summary:     XXXXXXX

 diff -r 05a177f9ac54 -r 53d815d37cc4
 test.txt
 Binary file test.txt has changed

How can I force a text diff in "hg log -p" output, like in "diff -a" ?
Using "--git" is not an option because it produces a binary patch.

Have I asked something too obvious or something impossible?
