How to view commit messages?

Chris Green
This is silly, I'm sure it must be trivial to do, but I can't see how
to view commit messages.  In particular I want to see the last commit
message for a specified file.

I took me a while to learn about it myself!

Use hg log -v

The verbosity is about the message itself :-)

So… hg log -v -l 1 path/to/the/file should do the trick

I use `hg export` to view commit messages.

Thank you Georges, I'd got as far as 'hg log' but hadn't added the -v.
