[Bug 6293] New: Rename directory sometimes inconsistent

            Bug ID: 6293
           Summary: Rename directory sometimes inconsistent
           Product: Mercurial
           Version: 4.5.2
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Windows
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: bug
          Priority: wish
         Component: Mercurial
          Assignee: [hidden email]
          Reporter: [hidden email]
                CC: [hidden email]
    Python Version: ---

C:\Test\> hg init .
C:\Test\> mkdir A
C:\Test\> echo a>A\a.ext
C:\Test\> hg add A\a.ext
C:\Test\> hg commit -m "a"
C:\Test\> hg rename A B
moving A\a.ext to B\a.ext

This is fine.

But sometimes "hg rename A B" results in this instead:
moving A\a.ext to B\A\a.ext

I don't know what triggers this inconsistent behavior. How can I avoid it? I'm
trying to write a script to rename many directories.

Thanks.
